Responsibilities

Provides direct services to children diagnosed with Autism in an ABA setting, using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis

Participates in Behavior Skills Training (BST)

Assists during Practical Functional Assessments

Provides crisis intervention as necessary

Operates vehicles to transport clients or perform other work-related duties

Completes incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client

Performs other duties as assigned

Serves as a member of Damar Services’ interdisciplinary team

Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth

Flexible and willing to work at any of the Damar ABA facilities

Actively engages with clients 7.5 hours per day

Promotes and maintains positive interaction with all internal and external stakeholders

Identifies solutions to improve stakeholder satisfaction

Acts as a good steward of Damar and/or client finances

Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness

Utilizes data collection to drive and track outcomes and achieve agency initiatives and goals

Ensures that the agency meets quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements

Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas

Adheres to all policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook, ABA Policy and Procedure Manual, and Damar Operational Policies and Procedures Manual

Maintains neat, chronological documentation of all goals and behaviors

Keeps abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations

Maintains RBT Certification as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Actively participates in and/or oversees data collection and the use of data to improve outcomes, practices and service delivery

Maintains documentation that is accurate and legible

Interacts professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and all other Damar caregivers and professionals using excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Must have Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

ABA therapy experience and/or experience working with children with autism is preferred but not required.

Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.

Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).

Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions.

Successfully complete a pre-employment physical.

Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening.

Essential Job Functions
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
