
ABA Therapist - 2nd Shift

Damar is currently seeking Intensive Autism Technicians to join our full‑time team at the East Chicago (4840 Grasselli St) location. The Intensive Autism Technician is responsible for providing direct services to children diagnosed with Autism using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The technician participates in Behavior Skills Training and assists during Practical Functional Assessments, performs natural environment training, skills‑based treatment, data collection, and intensive autism intervention. They provide direct support to individuals diagnosed with Autism who reside at Damar North, and assist the treatment team, including the Intensive Autism Manager, Intensive Autism Supervisor, and Director of Autism Services, in the evaluation of clinical services.

Keeps abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations
Interacts professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and others using excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
What You Need To Be Considered
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
ABA therapy experience and/or experience working with children with autism is preferred but not required
Ability to use an iPad and computer
Must have or be able to obtain Therapeutic Crises Intervention (TCI) Certification
Must have or be able to obtain CPR Certification
Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
Successfully complete a pre‑employment physical
Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
Essential Job Functions
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35 lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
