Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) Instructor to join our team. As a GNA Instructor, you will be responsible for instructing students according to a curriculum designed to assist them in passing the Maryland GNA licensing exam. You will also assist students in registering for the exam and provide clinical training experiences in a clinical facility.
Responsibilities
Participate in the development and evaluation of the training program
Implement the approved training program
Supervise classroom laboratory experiences
Evaluate student performance in the classroom
Provide supervision and clinical evaluation of each trainee at the clinical training site
Work with the Director of Nursing to create a positive learning environment
Requirements
RN licensed in Maryland
At least 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience caring for the elderly or chronically ill in the past 5 years
Completed a course with a minimum of 16 hours of instruction in the principles of adult education (such as Train the Trainer); or have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience
Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
Excellent organizational skills
Skilled in teaching adult learners
Willingness to work on a flexible schedule to meet educational requirements
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently
