About The Job
MedStar Health is looking for a Behavioral Health Therapist to join our HEART Team. The role involves delivering behavioral health counseling and providing ongoing psychological assessment and supportive counseling, as well as clinical supervision to Peer Recovery Specialists.
Primary Duties
Provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy services based on an understanding of various theoretical approaches to human behavior; collaborates with HEART Team members and beneficiaries to develop therapeutic goals and interventions; develops wellness, crisis, safety, and relapse prevention plans as needed.
Participates in regular caseload consultation with the supervisor and/or HEART Team, communicates behavioral health recommendations to the beneficiary and care providers, and documents work according to diagnostic and clinical guidelines.
Determines use of Peer Recovery Specialists and provides clinical guidance on their services; works closely with other clinical staff to maintain communication and provide feedback.
Participates in education and activities necessary to maintain competency in clinical work, including a 24/7/365 on‑call rotation and coordination of after‑hours resources.
Provides services remotely, in‑office, telephonically, via telehealth, in the community, or at the beneficiary's home according to needs and preferences.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work.
LCSW‑C (Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical); or LPC‑L (Licensed Professional Counselor); or Licensed Psychologist; or LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor); or LGPC (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor).
Valid state driver’s license in good standing.
CPR certification within 90 days.
Mental Health and/or Substance Use experience preferred.
Compensation
USD $61,838.00 – USD $111,259.00 per year.
