Mechanical Engineer - Casting Future State

Job Summary
The Ravenswood Casthouse is undergoing a multi‑stage expansion to implement a Casting Future State (CFS) vision. The initiative includes all aspects of casting—from scrap processing to ingot casting—including melting, metal treatment, and online quality control using state‑of‑the‑art technology and industry best practices. The core project is the replacement of the three oldest casting complexes.
Responsibilities
Accountable for mechanical engineering of assigned projects including safety, budget and schedule.
Ensure mechanical designs for assigned projects comply with industry and Constellium standards and best practices in terms of safety, sustainability, casting processes, molten metal standards, engineering, and project management.
Facilitate and sustain effective two‑way communications between the internal, corporate, and third‑party team members.
Mechanical engineering lead for the assigned casting future state projects, primarily the DC‑1/2/8 replacement including design, execution, start‑up, and close‑out.
Mechanical engineering support and supervision for assigned projects including equipment design, estimating and scheduling support, construction, commissioning, and close‑out.
Mechanical review of designs, scopes and proposals for OEM selection, engineering, and installation/start‑up.
Interface and coordinate with the multi‑discipline team assigned to the project.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of industry experience or an Associate’s Degree with 5 years of industry experience.
Experience and knowledge of casting technologies is preferred.
Willingness to learn project management, safety, quality, and lean methodologies & techniques.
Proficient with typical computer‑based software; basic CAD/3D design is preferred.
