Responsibilities
Machine Setup
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
Set up and secure workpieces, tooling, and fixtures on CNC/manual lathes.
Choose appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for each machining operation.
They will be required to make all set‑ups using specified equipment and occasionally without jigs and fixtures or special tools.
Operation
Operate CNC/manual lathes to perform milling, turning, facing, boring, threading, and other machining operations.
Monitor machine operations to ensure precision and adherence to quality standards.
Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
Occasionally required to develop new methods and machining techniques.
Capable of working with a minimum of supervision.
Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance on CNC/manual lathes, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machines to ensure optimal performance.
Quality Control
Conduct in‑process and final inspections to ensure the quality of machined components.
Make necessary adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and meet quality standards.
Responsible for inspection of all work, detecting unusual conditions, defective material, deviate parts, recognize errors in blueprints and operation sheets and report such to supervisor.
Documentation
Record production data, including programing, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling information.
Complete all required documentation related to machining processes and quality control.
Qualifications
5+ year proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar role
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Proficiency in operating CNC/manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders
Knowledge of cutting tools, measuring tools, and machining techniques
Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
Good communication and time management skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs unassisted from floor to chest
Occasionally be willing to work flexible or extended hours on an as needed basis
Pay
Pay commensurate with experience.
