This role is within the Corporate Technology Center (CTC) Materials Analytical Group. We are seeking an energetic and creative intern to support ongoing R&D projects through hands‑on operation of analytical instruments, material testing, data analysis, and technical report writing. Your work will contribute to advanced material characterization and problem‑solving for product development.
Responsibilities
Knowledgeable and hands‑on experience with SEM/EDS, XRF, Raman, TGA, DSC, Rotational Rheometer, DMA, Capillary Rheometer, TGA‑GC/MS, FTIR
Document experiments and procedures, analyze experimental data, report findings, and communicate with internal and external customers.
Knowledgeable and hands‑on experience with polymeric materials, physical properties, formulation, and/or processing and understanding of structure‑property relationships.
Willingness to conduct literature searches and perform scouting activities on technologies material formulation to be tested at the CTC labs.
Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze, and evaluate a wide variety of complex material issues.
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment with minimal supervision
Good written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
You're the kind of person we are looking for if you:
Have earned a high school diploma or GED
Are currently enrolled in, or pursuing, a PhD Degree in Chemistry, Plastics/Polymer Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university-or have equivalent work experience (gap year students may also be considered).
Preferably have prior internship experience or have completed a major project
Are authorized to work in the U.S.
Pursuing a Ph.D., preferably in Analytical Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field of study
Minimum GPA of 3.0 in major

Compensation
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $26.01- 55.22 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
