Inventory Control Production Coordinator

Responsibilities
The Production Coordinator develops and executes short‑term production planning and inventory management, aligning with customer service, supply chain, procurement, product management and manufacturing. They integrate demand forecasts with production capabilities using MRP techniques to generate production plans. Their role involves optimizing inventory levels, serving as an expert resource, and ensuring high asset utilization and schedule compliance.
Develop and execute short‑term operational production planning and inventory management program with guidance from supply chain, product management and manufacturing, including rough‑cut capacity planning and finite scheduling.
Participate in operations planning meetings as the expert on the production plan/schedule using MRP techniques, capacity, campaign and sequencing issues; advise supply chain, QC and manufacturing on decisions to support the balance of short‑term supply and demand.
Plan/schedule and requisition raw materials as defined by the production plan and schedule; define inventory targets by raw material while managing overall raw material levels to established targets.
Define and recommend target levels of raw material, work‑in‑process and finished goods inventories to customer service, manufacturing and supply chain based on MRP parameters and knowledge of production processes.
Monitor and maintain operational raw material and work‑in‑process inventory levels, optimize inventory to achieve effective customer service, and manage production plan/schedule to achieve targeted finished goods levels.
Coordinate packaging requirements and finished‑good shipping activities between supply chain, manufacturing and plant shipping.
Maintain operational inventories by managing inventory days on hand, policing obsolete, dormant and slow‑moving stock, and develop feedback reports for resolution.
Serve as the primary communication link between customer service, product management, supply chain, procurement and manufacturing in daily production meetings, MRP updates and SAP reports.
Serve as an expert resource for manufacturing concerning scheduling systems; continually improve planning and scheduling processes.
Track and communicate key supply chain issues with raw material and intermediate inventory levels; lead weekly review process with manufacturing to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Champion cycle‑count initiatives and perform necessary inventory corrections to maintain site inventory accuracy, developing new procedures and guidelines.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing, with concentration in SAP, production scheduling, material flow, distribution and inventory control.
Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Excel data import/export and Pivot table data analysis.
Preferred Experience
Understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts; Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
Ink product line knowledge is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor degree or vocational degree/equivalent work experience.
