Job Description
Purpose of the Position:
Responsible for developing manufacturing processes, defining machines specifications, managing equipment suppliers progress, validating equipment and processes, improving operational efficiency through equipment layout and engineering, product design/redesign and overall production process improvements, adhering to Electricfil guidelines and procedures.
Job Duties
New Products
Proposes processes and equipment to the project leader to achieve customer satisfaction and develops this equipment with suppliers
Responsible for developing PFMEA
Product and Development
Develop equipment from requirement phase to final validation for both new equipment and transfer of equipment from other factories in the group.
Approves modifications of standards for manufacturing of existing products and approves standards for new products.
Makes lay‑outs for workshop and workstations for new products or for important modification.
Times production for new products or process modifications.
Improves processes in quality and cost according to the best standard of Electricfil Automotive.
Responsible for safety of all new manufacturing equipment under his/her responsibility implemented in EFC.
Responsible for safety and suppliers monitoring during machine set‑up in EFC.
Supports maintenance team in case of issues that maintenance department cannot solve.
Training
Trains operators and supports on new equipment (i.e., safety, working operations, etc.).
Other
Added duties as assigned.
Authority
To make recommendations relating to equipment, product and the operational efficiency of EFi Automotive, Alabama, to the management of EFi Automotive, France, the Operations Manager, and other EFi team members.
All employees have a quality and safety responsibility; therefore, having the authority to stop work processes to correct quality and/or safety problems, or quarantine items in the appropriate designated area until the issues are resolved.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Individual will be held accountable for achieving defined Individual and Continuous Improvement objectives.
The individual will be responsible for working effectively with other departments that need to be part of EFi Automotive, including involvement of our engineers and management in Beynost, France.
Participate in customer audits.
Strictly adhere to Company Safety and other policies as documented in EFi Automotive (Alabama) Handbook.
Reporting
Maintain project plans including product and equipment requirements, budgets, workforce, technical objectives, schedules, project, and product cost estimates.
Equipment Validation, Plan & Report (EVP&R) documents.
Analyze functional test data and propose potential failure modes to team.
Internal and/or External Contacts
(Internally) Individual will interface with management & all levels of personnel within the organization.
(Internally) Individual will collaborate closely with other engineers at EFi Automotive, locally and globally, as needed.
(Internally) Individual will work closely with maintenance, quality, and environmental health and safety on projects related to equipment, process improvements, product improvements, etc.
(Externally) Individual will interface with customer and vendor representatives, including participation in customer audits and visits as requested.
Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical)
Two (2) to five (5) years of related work experience
Previous experience in manufacturing engineering or in maintenance department is
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of software, AutoCAD, Solidworks, or other 3D software.
Knowledge of PLC programming.
General Automation experience.
Ability to read pneumatic and electrical schematics and troubleshoot equipment.
Methodical, capable of analyzing technical problems and providing a concise written summary to management.
Special Knowledge
Communication
egotiation/meeting facilitation.
Fluent in business English, IT literate.
Functional Capacity Requirements
Note: In terms of an 8‑hour workday, “Occasionally” equals 1% to 33%; “Frequently” equals 34% to 66%, and “Continuously” equals 67% to 100% of the time.
