Position Summary
The physical therapist is responsible for evaluation, planning and implementation of treatment with a variety of physical disabilities as prescribed by the referring physician and in compliance with the criteria set forth by the standards of Rochelle Community Hospital and the State of Illinois. Administers and directs administration of physical agents utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation. The physical therapist is responsible to the Manager of Physical Therapy.
Education
B.S. degree and certificate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Illinois.
Member or eligible for membership, in the American Physical Therapy Association.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Demonstrates the ability to work accurately and effectively from oral and written directions.
Enjoys working with people and works cooperatively with other hospital staff.
Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication.
Physical and intellectual capacity to carry out treatment programs and documentation as required by the position.
Knowledge and the ability to utilize:
The theory of physical medicine
Human anatomy and physiology
The disease process of the body to carry out the values of physical therapy agents.
Ability to handle a variety of duties which may be interrupted or changed by immediate circumstances.
Constant kneeling, stooping, bending, twisting and occasional need to lift patients.
Medium Lifting, generally lifting not more than 50 lbs maximum with assistance, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
