Cardillo & Son, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to serve as a Diesel Mechanic Working Shop Foreman. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability and overall condition of our fleet of light, medium, and heavy duty trucks, trailers, and construction equipment supporting general contracting, residential construction, trucking, materials production, and snow operations. This is a working foreman role within a small company environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing diagnostics and repairs while also coordinating shop workflow, helping prioritize repairs, and improving preventative maintenance procedures. We are looking for someone interested in a long-term opportunity who wants to grow with the company and help strengthen and expand our maintenance division. Compensation begins at $90,000 and will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Responsibilities • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air brake systems • Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment • Lead shop workflow and help prioritize repair schedules • Serve as working foreman by performing mechanical work alongside other technicians • Maintain maintenance logs and service records • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend solutions • Coordinate work with shop mechanic and subcontracted vendors • Perform tire repairs and replacements as needed • Ensure fleet is maintained in clean, professional condition • Coordinate parts sourcing with ownership and vendors • Respond to repair needs during winter snow operations • Communicate with drivers and equipment operators regarding equipment issues Qualifications • 5+ years diesel mechanic experience • Strong diagnostic ability with diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems • Lead mechanic or supervisory experience preferred • Welding knowledge helpful but not required • CDL helpful but not required • Must have mechanic tools Benefits • Company truck • Company phone • Laptop or tablet • Uniforms • Tool stipend • Paid training • Stable year-round employment Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Bonus/Commission: No
