
Payroll Administrator/Payroll Clerk

Overview
The Payroll Administrator / Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing payroll operations and serving as CEF's primary payroll liaison with TransDigm. This role administers weekly payroll inputs, ensures adherence to payroll policies, prepares required reporting, and develops solutions to payroll-related issues. The position also provides full-cycle accounts payable support, including invoice processing, vendor management, account reconciliations, and assistance with audits and month-end close.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll
Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate programs, projects, and inquiries related to ADP systems and payroll data.
Prepare reporting required to calculate CEF liabilities, including profit sharing, monthly temporary labor accruals, and other analyses.
Perform weekly payroll input and submission through ADP.
Identify and resolve payroll processing issues, including shift differentials, coding discrepancies, and compliance updates.
Calculate benefit withholdings and coordinate timely remittance to third-party administrators.
Accounts Payable
Use AP software to perform 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders and receipts.
Work cross functionally with purchasing and quality to resolve 3-way match issues.
Assist in identifying and preparing 1099 documentation.
Audit freight invoices against freight manifests for accuracy.
Identify process improvement opportunities and develop solutions to enhance efficiency.
Analyze vendor accounts, set up new vendors, and respond to vendor inquiries.
Print and maintain all accounts payable reports and associated documentation.
Prepare automated or manual account adjustments as needed.
Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing AP and payroll journal entries.
Support internal and external audits, including SOX, financial, and DCAA audits.
Participate in special projects as assigned.
Process scrap transactions.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply high school level math concepts to daily work.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and resolve basic issues involving limited standardized variables.
Computer Skills
Working knowledge of ERP accounting systems, payroll software (ADP), Microsoft Excel, and word processing programs.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, use hands and fingers, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, speak, and hear. The employee may occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is performed in both office and shop-floor environments. Office areas are climate-controlled. Shop-floor visits may expose the employee to loud noise, fumes, and varying temperatures. Employees must comply with all company policies.
