Job Description

Position Summary: The Certified Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) leads field traffic control operations across Louisiana, ensuring full compliance with Louisiana Department of Transportation standards and Federal Highway Administration MUTCD guidelines. This role serves as the on-site authority for work zone safety, crew supervision, and Traffic Control Plan (TCP) execution in dynamic roadway environments.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and direct traffic control crews and flaggers across active job sites
Implement and adjust Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) per LaDOTD and MUTCD requirements
Ensure proper placement and maintenance of signage, cones, barricades, and arrow boards
Conduct job site hazard assessments, safety briefings, and compliance checks
Enforce all LaDOTD, local, and company safety regulations
Troubleshoot field issues and maintain safe, efficient traffic flow
Complete accurate job documentation, reporting, and timekeeping
Serve as the field point of contact for customers, contractors, and inspector
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Qualifications:
ATSSA TCS Certification (required) or 4000+ verifiable hours required.
2+ Years Traffic Control Experience.
Strong knowledge of Work Zone Traffic Control standards and MUTCD
Ability to read and execute Traffic Control Plans (TCPs)
Familiarity with a client-based schedule.
Valid Driver's license with acceptable MVR.
Comfortable standing 8-12 hours a day.
Ability to lift 50-60 lbs.
Accustomed to working in all types of weather, and in traffic.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening including a drug test.
Preferred:
Experience in Louisiana utility, roadway, or energy infrastructure projects
OSHA 10/30 certification
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to successfully manage the physical demands of this position, which include the following:
Hours of operation may vary based on staffing needs and workload.
Majority of time will be in the field.
The position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving vehicles, and occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
Noise levels in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Position may lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
Availability for early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
If necessary, in the field, stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; employee lifts pushes, pulls, or carries objects.
