Warehouse Associate (Inventory & Material Handling) - Materials Control Specialist II
Location: Duncan, South Carolina (Spartanburg County) Department: Warehouse Operations / Inventory / Supply Chain Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Inventory Manager Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site Pay Rate: $19 Schedule: Morning (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
Position Overview
We are hiring a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in ensuring accurate inventory, efficient material flow, and on-time support for production and shipping.
You will work hands-on with receiving, picking, stocking, and SAP-based inventory transactions, while contributing to a safe and organized warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and products
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping and production support
Perform inventory transactions in SAP or ERP systems (goods receipt, issue, transfers)
Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counting and stock audits
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment safely
Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of warehouse inventory
Support shipping and receiving operations, including loading/unloading trucks
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines
Participate in 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional departments
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
13 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory control
Basic knowledge of inventory systems (SAP, ERP, or WMS)
Experience with material handling equipment (forklift certification preferred)
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team-oriented environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory handling
Good communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments
Familiarity with RF scanners, barcode systems, and warehouse management systems (WMS)
Knowledge of inventory control processes, cycle counting, and stock replenishment
OSHA safety training or forklift operator certification
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk 68 miles per shift in a warehouse environment
Stand for extended periods during picking, packing, and stocking tasks
Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly
Perform frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and climbing
Safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery
Work Environment
Fast-paced warehouse and distribution setting
Exposure to temperature changes and loading dock conditions
Noise levels from forklifts and industrial equipment
Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses
