Press Brake Operator

Location: Taylor, MI Pay: $20-$22 Shift: 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Primary Purpose & Function

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal components according to specifications. This role ensures precision, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC or manual press brake machines to bend metal parts
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
Select proper tooling (dies and punches) based on job requirements
Perform machine setups, adjustments, and changeovers
Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances
Load and position materials properly for bending operations
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments
Identify defects and report quality or equipment issues
Maintain production quotas and efficiency standards
Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
Follow all company safety procedures and policies
Skills & Qualifications

Previous press brake or metal fabrication experience preferred
Experience with CNC press brakes (Amada, Cincinnati, etc.) is a plus
Ability to read blueprints and understand measurements/tolerances
Strong attention to detail and quality control
Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements)
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for 810 hours per shift
Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs
Repetitive bending, lifting, and reaching
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (noise, heat, machinery)
Safety Equipment / PPE

Steel-toe boots
Safety glasses
Gloves
Hearing protection (as required)
