Wash Plant Operator

POSITION SCOPE
The Wash Plant Operator is responsible for operations of the wash plant function and monitoring. Employees are expected to operate all equipment in a safe manner. As a result, basic mechanical skills are required for maintenance of equipment and assistance to overall plant maintenance.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Inspect and maintain equipment
Repair equipment
Operation and knowledge of wash plant startup/shutdown procedures
Grease machinery weekly
Replace wear parts (screens, paddles, etc.)
Clean debris from conveyor belt and around machinery
Safely operate Wash Plant to produce aggregate as specified by supervisor
Reports to shop when equipment needs maintenance and repair that he/she cannot do safely and effectively
Works closely with other crew members to coordinate work and ensure safety
Running equipment and loading when necessary
Maintains orderliness, cleanliness and safety at job site
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED
Capable of lifting 75 lbs.
Basic mechanical skills
Able and willing to work extended work schedules, overtime, weekends, and call ins, as necessary
Understand and comply with mining safety and environmental regulations
