Industrial Machinist
Location: Valparaiso, IN, US, 46383 Job ID: 60123 Pay starts at $36 per hour. Night Shift
Primary Purpose: Identifies, maintains, assembles and reworks shell, lane and tab die tooling.
Key Accountabilities:
Identifies problems in a timely manner
Works well in a team environment
Exhibits the ability to learn and apply new skills
Operate a surface grinder, lathe, polishing wheel, drill press, hand tools and mill
Assemble, clean and adjust intricate die set assemblies
Determine tooling rework needs and prioritize work accordingly
Rework/rebuild tab feeders
Rework/rebuild tab and lane dies
Indicate tooling stack heights and set-up dies to print specifications
Indicate tooling/dies for proper alignment
Read and understand engineering drawings
Ability to machine process equipment parts to print
Ability to use and read depth micrometer's, dial indicators, height gauges, callipers and micrometer's
Ability to self-manage workloads and standard assigned duties
Ability to make decisions when troubleshooting material defects from potential compromised tooling
Utilize different extraction methods for broken tooling, bolts and other defective/damaged components from process equipment in production area
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment
Experience working in an industrial environment
Journeyman machinist or tool & die maker preferred
Read precision measuring devices such as but not limited to micrometers, dial indicators, depth mics
High School Diploma or GED required

Ability and willingness to work overtime
Fine motor skills, reaching, twisting, grip, bend, reach, lift, visual & mental acuity
Able to lift up to 100 pounds and frequently lift/carry 50 pounds
Use various hand tools

Ability to multi-task
Exposure to heat, vibrations and loud noise
