
Saw Operator- 2nd or 3rd Shift

Warehouse Material Handler
Moves, stocks, saws, cuts, and stages material within the warehouse.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Sets up and operates cut-off machines to cut, slot, groove, miter, and trim steel according to specification.
Selects and installs blade on machine, using hand tools.
Sets controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tensions.
Positions guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct steel, using hand tools and measuring devices.
Mounts steel in holding device, manually or using overhead crane.
Reads job order and blueprint for specifications.
Inspects material for quality standards by measuring cut stock with ruler, caliper, or square to verify dimensions against specifications.
Operates material handling equipment and stages vehicles to assist in the movement of materials to and from the Saw Department.
Performs daily preventative maintenance inspections as required.
Follows safety regulations and company work rules for a safe working environment.
Maintains a clean working area both during and after the scheduled shift.

Requirements:
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, one to three years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of both preferred.
Essential Functions:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to critically think and solve problems.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include a computer, side loader, overhead crane, metal cutting saw and various small hand tools.
Requires the ability to pass forklift course and drive equipment.
Physical Demands:
Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Occasionally life or move up to 70 pounds.
Repetitive fine motor movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists performing tasks.
Frequently working on foot, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail bending and stooping.
Occasional sedentary work, sitting for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. He/she is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
