Scope of Role
The Welder is responsible for welds and assembles stainless or aluminum components in manufacturing of tank trailers for liquid transportation in the chemical, food, and sanitary industries.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Weld stainless or aluminum sheets to produce tanks in various positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead, etc.

Identify any faults in equipment, materials, or operations and notify the supervisor.

Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, bolt, and/or grind materials as necessary to meet technical requirements and create a welded final product.

Operate accessory equipment and perform tasks necessary for welding metal, such as fusing metal segments using gas tungsten arcs, metal arcs, flux-cored arcs, plasma arcs, and other welding techniques.

Control fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, distortion, expansion, and/or shrinkage of parts.

Prepare and set up tools and equipment for welding jobs, including shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, and other welding equipment.

Read and understand basic prints and drawings to ensure work accuracy.

Inspect finished products to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.

Follow workflow processes and standard work instructions.

Problem-solve and communicate effectively with the work team.

Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of workflow and processes.

Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Experience / Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

2+ years of experience as a welder/fabricator.

MIG and TIG welding experience required.

Stainless steel welding experience required; aluminum welding is a plus.

Fabrication experience is a plus.

Interpersonal, Leadership, and Technical Skills

Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to read basic measuring equipment such as tape measures, rulers, and levels.

Professionalism and a positive attitude are required.

Self-motivated and self-starting attitude.

Ability to use all extremities to efficiently operate manual and power tools.

Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to extreme heat, humidity, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, loud noise, and all-weather conditions.

Ability to climb and work on stairs, ladders, and scaffolding at heights up to 15 feet.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, as well as read engineering drawings, meters, and documentation.

Ability to hear audible warning horns.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
