Warehouse Worker

The Warehouse Worker supports daily warehouse and production operations by stacking, sorting, and labeling boxes, loading and unloading trucks, organizing products, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate order picking, timely shipments, and smooth material flow throughout the facility.
Responsibilities

Stack, sort, and label boxes accurately to support efficient storage and shipping.
Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate material handling methods.
Organize products in the warehouse to ensure easy access, accurate inventory, and smooth workflow.
Perform order picking using RF scanners or other scanning devices to fulfill customer orders accurately.
Assist with packaging, packing, and filling tasks to prepare products for shipment.
Handle materials and inventory, including counting, moving, and staging products as needed.
Use scanners and related equipment to track inventory and product movement within the warehouse.
Support general labor and production activities as required to meet daily operational goals.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following housekeeping and safety procedures.
Follow directions from the production lead and warehouse supervisor, completing other duties as assigned to support overall operations.
Essential Skills

Experience performing general labor in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.
Previous experience in a production and/or manufacturing setting.
Ability to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
Proficiency with packaging, packing, and filling tasks.
Experience with inventory handling, including picking and order picking.
Skill in material handling, including moving, staging, and organizing products.
Ability to use RF scanners and other scanning devices for picking and inventory control.
Effective communication skills to work with supervisors and team members.
Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with warehouse packing and order fulfillment processes.
Familiarity with using scanners to track product movement and inventory.
Comfort working in both warehouse and production environments.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Attention to detail when labeling, sorting, and packaging products.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse and production environment. The typical schedule is 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts as business needs require. You will work on your feet for most of the day, handling boxes, materials, and inventory in a fast-paced setting. The role involves working around production equipment and warehouse machinery, using RF scanners and other tools to manage inventory and fulfill orders. The environment requires adherence to safety procedures and appropriate work attire suitable for an active warehouse and production setting.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Metairie, LA.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
