Job Summary
We are a growing construction company specializing in commercial and industrial property maintenance and repair services , primarily working with property management companies . We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong estimating skills, excellent communication, and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Most communication is conducted via email , so strong written communication is essential.
You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing blueprints, managing bid proposals, and supporting project success from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
* Review blueprints, plans, and bid documents to prepare accurate construction cost estimates
* Estimate labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and project timelines
* Use QuickBooks for job costing, budgeting, and estimate tracking
* Interpret construction drawings and specifications for commercial and industrial maintenance projects
* Request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
* Prepare detailed bid proposals and scope breakdowns
* Conduct occasional site visits to assess project requirements
* Collaborate with project managers and field teams to refine project scope
* Adjust estimates based on scope changes and revisions
* Maintain organized records of bids, proposals, and project data
* Communicate with clients, vendors, and property managers primarily via email
* Provide excellent customer service and build strong long-term client relationships
Required Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Construction Estimator (commercial or industrial experience preferred)
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
* Proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
* Strong written communication skills and proficiency in email communication (required)
* Excellent customer service skills and ability to build client relationships
* Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
* Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers
* Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Experience in property management maintenance work is a plus
* Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar estimating tools is a plus
