Machine Shop Supervisor

Are you an experienced Machinist ready to take the next step in your career? Cornell Pump Company is seeking a Machine Shop Lead to join our 2nd shift team in Clackamas, OR.
In this role, you will oversee daily machining operations during swing shift, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who takes pride in their work and is ready to take ownership of both people and processes while driving efficiency and quality on the shop floor.
Location: Clackamas, OR
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Swing shift 1:30pm to 10pm
Hourly Pay: $38.00 to $41.00
What You'll Do:
Lead and coordinate swing shift machine shop personnel, including CNC machinists, operators, and support staff
Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and efficiency standards
Set up, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.)
Provide technical support and training to team members
Monitor part quality and ensure compliance with specifications and drawings
Enforce company safety policies and promote a safe work environment
Perform first-piece inspections and in-process checks as required
Coordinate shift handoff with day shift leadership to ensure continuity
Address machine downtime and escalate issues to maintenance as needed
Maintain organization of tools, fixtures, and work areas (5S standards)
Track production metrics and performance, and report to management
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
5+ years of machining experience (CNC preferred)
2+ years of leadership or lead experience in a machine shop environment
Strong understanding of G & M code, tooling, and machining processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus
Must have knowledge of set-up & operation of the following:
Horizontal & Vertical Lathes using the latest Fanuc controls (Hwacheon, DN Solutions)
Mazak horizontal mill
Samsung horizontal Lathes using older Fanuc controls
Various Haas mills of different generations (VF8, EC1600, UMC-750, etc.)
Haas SL-20 & ST-30 horizontal lathes with live tooling
