Supervisor, Shipping
The Supervisor, Shipping oversees and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties either directly or through subordinates.
This position will serve our HTPG Division, located in Scottsboro, AL.
Responsibilities
Provides direct supervision over shipping staff.
Provides performance feedback, coaching and mentoring.
Oversees the selection, weighing and addressing of products and loading into trucks.
Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Compiles records of unfilled orders, material in stock, and shipments.
Prints pick orders, packing slips, bills of lading, shipping and barcode labels.
Develops and administers programs to determine the most advantageous and economical methods of shipment for R
Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lays out position of shipment.
Demonstrates ability to plan and organize projects including schedules, budgets, and project deliverables
Determines and implements areas for process improvement.
Maintain a well-organized department free of any safety hazards, with clearly designated and marked sections, with a continuous improvement focus.

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or related field.
5+ years of experience in shipping/receiving in a manufacturing environment.
Supervisory experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the
general public.
Basic mathematical skills including the ability to calculate discounts and percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Demonstrates ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
