Security Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Security Administrative Assistant to support critical security operations for Department of the Navy (DoN) Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) facilities. This position requires an individual with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to maintain 100% accuracy in access control operations while processing security documentation and visitor credentials.
Responsibilities:
Execute all administrative actions required to maintain the Department of the Navy's Program Access Request process utilizing DoN Special Access Program Needs Process (SAPNP) criteria
Perform data entry for submission of Program Access Requests (PARs), completed Program Indoctrinations (PIAs), and facility information utilizing the DoN's Joint Access Database System (JADS), Joint Access Database Environment (JADE), or alternate approved databases
Track the access request process from initiation through completion, maintaining current status information
Obtain required signatures and approvals in accordance with established timelines
Provide PAR tracking status metrics to the Government Program Security Officer (PSO) and/or Government Program Manager upon request
Prepare visit certifications and obtain necessary approvals for Program Office personnel
Review and obtain appropriate approvals for visit certifications for non-Program Office personnel traveling between facilities
Conduct accurate visitor identification procedures
Provide escort services for visitors as needed
Maintain comprehensive visitor logs with complete documentation of all facility visits
Ensure all visitor control activities comply with security protocols and timelines
Provide security support during test and demonstration events
Coordinate security requirements for special events and activities
Perform Document Control Officer (DCO) duties as required
Maintain accurate security documentation and records
Ensure timely preparation and receipt of visit notifications
Verify visitor clearance information using the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) or other relevant systems as appropriate
Process 100% accurate visit credentials for properly cleared individuals
Process base access requests utilizing the Base Access Security Information Control System (BASICS)
Manage SAP/SCI visitor control programs ensuring compliance with all governing directives
Verify visits against SAP/SCI access databases and record all visits using appropriate visitor logs
Utilize approved databases including DISS, Visit Authorization System, and manual records systems to verify visitor credentials
Grant access only to properly cleared visitors with 100% accuracy
Qualifications:
High School Diploma (or equivalent).
The candidate must successfully complete the following CDSE training within 180 days of assignment.
Derivative classification upon initial assignment and Derivative Classification Refresher every 2 years.
Identifying and Safeguarding Personally Identifiable information (PII)
Marking Classified information
SAP Overview
Annual Cyber Security Awareness/Information Assurance
OPSEC Training
This position requires U.S. citizenship and a final DoD TOP SECRET clearance with most recent investigation (SSBI, SBPR, PPR, T5, T5R) completed within the last 6 years.
Two (2) years' experience in a DoD Security environment (Military, Government Civilian, or DoD contractor). One (1) year of that experience working in specialized classified environment is desired.
Working knowledge of security manuals, directives, and Executive orders to include but not limited to; EO 13526, DoDM 5220.22-M (NISPOM), ICD 705, DoDM 5200.01 (Volumes 1-4), DoDM 5205.07, DoDI 5205.11 and DoDI 8500.01
Prior experience in a security support role within classified programs highly desired
Skills & Technology Used:
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in maintaining electronic and physical recordkeeping systems
Ability to interpret and apply complex security regulations and policies
