Shipping And Receiving Associate
Provides direction to co-workers to ensure that all shipping documents and functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures that the least cost carrier is selected and used as the appropriate transporter. Maximizes parcel weight through combining product to be shipped to the same customer.
Essential Job Functions
Sorts packages and uses a hand scanner to determine shipment status
Checks boxes to ensure they are sealed, properly labeled and free from any damage; makes sure all quality standards are met
Demonstrates "role model" work habits and fosters teamwork within the department
Enhances team morale
discusses issues and suggestions with Area Manager and follows up with team members.
Conducts on-the-job training and provides constructive feedback to employees
Continually seeks opportunities to improve department operations
Encourages team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment
Achieves and maintains certifications required to operate equipment necessary within assigned department. Performs safety checks prior to use. Reports machine problems to Area Manager. Charges industrial truck batteries as needed
Is willing to be cross trained as a lead in other departments

Education & Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of related experience is highly preferred

Computer literate / spreadsheet experience to enter inventory, deliveries and scheduling in order to track, analyze and manage operations effectively
Motivated to train, learn, and lead by example
Able to work from verbal and written instructions
Able to work accurately with numbers and use a calculator
