Shipping & Receiving Associate
The Shipping & Receiving Associate plays a key role in preparing, organizing, and loading products for safe delivery to job sites. This position focuses on accurate palletizing, loading, and documentation while using material handling equipment in an open production environment. Over time, the role offers the opportunity to develop leadership capabilities and support warehouse team coordination.
Responsibilities
Stack product correctly on pallets to prevent cracking, breaking, or other damage during storage and transport.
Palletize all product according to how it will be installed in the field, ensuring the correct sequence and layout.
Shrink wrap products and apply tickets or labels to each order for accurate identification and tracking.
Operate overhead hoists for the majority of lifting tasks to safely move heavy materials.
Use pallet jacks to move product around the facility and to load trucks efficiently and safely.
Load products onto trailers in the correct installation order (from first to last bricks) to streamline on-site work.
Load small trailers and semi-trailers while ensuring correct trailer weights, stability, and proper tie-downs.
Stack finished products on pallets, A-frames, or in bulk, ensuring correct pallet weights, appropriate product protection devices, stability, and accurate pallet tags.
Read and interpret blueprints, including shop drawings, hardware lists, and piece tickets, to confirm correct products and configurations.
Calculate fractions, decimals, portions, percentages, area, and volume to support accurate measurements and load planning.
Perform surface finishes such as acid washing, sandblasting, honing, and polishing on products as required.
Perform filling and patching of products, as well as any painting that may be required to meet quality standards.
Use forklifts, power tools, and other equipment in accordance with safety procedures and work orders.
Follow work orders and shipping documents to ensure accurate fulfillment and on-time shipments.
Assist with general labor and production tasks related to concrete and product assembly as needed.
Learn to lead the warehouse team and take on additional duties and responsibilities as the job progresses, preparing for a future leadership role.
Essential Skills
At least 12 months of previous warehouse experience.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading.
Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
Proficiency in reading and following work orders and shipping documentation.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including shop drawings, hardware lists, and piece tickets.
Strong math skills, including calculating fractions, decimals, portions, percentages, area, and volume.
Experience with material handling in a production or warehouse environment.
Capability to use power tools and basic hand tools safely.
Ability to perform general labor and production tasks, including work with concrete products.
Attention to detail to ensure correct palletizing, labeling, and trailer loading.
Physical ability to work in an active production and warehouse setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and interest in growing into a leadership role over time.
Experience with surface finishing processes such as acid washing, sandblasting, honing, and polishing.
Experience with filling, patching, and painting products to meet quality standards.
Comfort working with overhead hoists and other lifting equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple orders and tasks efficiently.

This role is based in an open production and warehouse environment where large bay doors create conditions that are hot in the summer and colder in the winter. You will regularly work around concrete products, production equipment, overhead hoists, forklifts, pallet jacks, and power tools. The environment is active and hands-on, with frequent material handling, loading of small trailers and semi-trailers, and movement throughout the facility. Work typically starts early in the morning, aligning with production and shipping schedules.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
