We are seeking an experienced
Field Service Technician (FST) , Mechanical, for the Gravure, Coating and Laminating product line. The FST provides timely and efficient machine repairs and installations primarily for customers and will serve as the front-line representative for the BOBST product range.
90% TRAVEL REQUIRED - Candidates must have flexibility to travel extensively throughout the US and Canada. Ideal candidate located within 1 hour from a major international airport.
The FST is at the core of an extensive support network of service personnel worldwide. This trusted advisor is the key customer representative, responsible for confirming, clarifying, and meeting the customers' expectations at every stage of contact and on every service, project relating to our machines. The FST possesses a strong background in the principles of electrical & mechanical engineering. They think logically and enjoy solving problems with creativity, diligence and above all else, focus on excellent customer service.
Principle Responsibilities:
Machine Service (electrical & mechanical), including the repair and installation of new machines, relocation of existing equipment, customer training, preventative maintenance, ordering parts necessary to perform installations and repair, troubleshooting problems and proactively recommend the necessary service and maintenance programs.
Key Skills & Attributes:
Minimum of
5 years' experience
in the packaging industry or finishing converting industry
Background in Mechanical engineering
Diagnosing faults and make recommendations in customer environment.
Technical knowledge (variable frequency drives, motors, basic AC/DC)
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
To be considered for this role, candidates should have -
Strong analysis skills and attention to detail
Independent, responsible work style
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
Fluency with metric system
Education:
Technical school or college related to mechanical engineering
Compensation & Benefits:
In good faith and in alignment with current market data, the base salary for this position is estimated to range between $80,000 and $87,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible for:
Overtime Pay (OT)
Per diem allowance during travel
Travel time compensation
Comprehensive health, dental, & vision insurance
401(k) with company match
Vacation and holiday pay
