CAMS is on the search for a full-time, Accounting Clerk.
The schedule for this position is Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at our Wilmington office. Tuesdays and Thursdays can be worked remotely, from home.
The Accounting Clerk supports the Accounting and Finance Services team with a primary focus on debit receipt processing, a critical function that requires exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. In addition to managing high-volume, detail-oriented processing tasks, this role assists with a variety of accounting and finance support activities to ensure smooth and timely operations. This position offers growth opportunities within Accounting and Finance Services at CAMS, with responsibilities able to expand based on performance, demonstrated skills, and the individual's desired career path within the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
Debit Receipt Processing & Banking Support:
Process debit card receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain and update the New Debit Card tracking spreadsheet.
Troubleshoot and resolve minor debit card issues.
Assist with opening and closing bank accounts, including ICS, CDs, and CDARS.
Open all onboarding bank accounts and ensure proper setup in Vantaca.
Serve as backup for the Finance Services Specialist.
Retrieve and organize non-integrated bank statements for our Virtual Employees (VEs).
Tax Processing & Compliance:
Assist with coordinating tax return submissions with external CPAs to ensure timely filings.
Scan, save, and upload all tax returns into Vantaca.
Prepare tax returns for mailing through the mailroom.
Assist with making tax and estimated payments, including EFTPS setup as needed.
Scan and upload all association 1099 forms.
Assist with CPA inquiries related to tax and audit preparation
Administrative & Other Duties:
Check, process, and send accounting-related mail.
Maintain organized financial records and digital filing systems.
Assist with special projects and additional tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Prior experience in accounting support, banking, or financial services strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, especially in transactional processing.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office software.
Experience with Vantaca or similar accounting/property management systems is a plus.
Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to learn and take on expanded responsibilities over time.
Growth & Development:
This role is designed to provide a strong foundation within Accounting and Finance Services. Based on performance and individual career interests, the Accounting Clerk may grow into expanded accounting, or finance responsibilities within CAMS.
Pay Rate & Benefits:
The pay rate for this position is $19/hourly and is based on experience and qualifications.
