Poll Workers assist with the setup, operation, and closing of polling locations during the election period. Your Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a professional and welcoming environment by greeting voters and providing clear guidance throughout the election process. This involves checking in participants using electronic poll books to verify information, issuing ballots, and explaining specific voting procedures. You will also provide hands-on assistance with voting equipment, such as ballot-marking devices, to ensure the process is accessible and seamless for all individuals, including those who require extra support. Beyond direct interaction, you are tasked with monitoring the polling site to uphold security and legal compliance, while also handling the physical setup and breakdown of equipment and signage. Finally, the role requires diligent record-keeping, including completing official documentation and end-of-day reconciliation tasks.
To ensure success in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills and a high level of comfort using technology, including tablets and specialized voting equipment. We require individuals who can follow detailed procedures with precision while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality. It is essential that staff remain strictly neutral and nonpartisan at all times while on duty to preserve the integrity of the election. Furthermore, you should possess exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to assist a diverse range of voters.
Important Dates & Scheduling
June 1518 & June 23, 2026 (Election Day) Must attend one mandatory training session (held approximately 12 weeks prior to the election; two session options will be offered)
Scheduling & Flexibility Flexible shifts available: Early Voting Mon-Thurs 12-6pm; Election Day 7am-8pm
Qualifications
Education: Graduation from High School or GED
Special Qualifications:
Registered voter in Cache County
18 years of age
Must be able to pass a background check successfully
