Friday, Weekends if scheduled

Summary
To operate the EMI wastewater treatment facility safely and efficiently by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Completes routine wastewater analytical tests daily for reference in making decisions for process control.
Performs general cleaning around the facility.
Prepares wastewater treatment chemical mixes used in the treatment process.
Monitors numerous parameters of chemical, physical/mechanical and biological nature that are required to operate the facility.
Performs general maintenance on equipment.
Works independent of on-site supervision but will know the limits of his/her responsibilities and will consistently contact supervisory staff for counsel in situations that exceed those limits.
Pursues continued professional development in the area of wastewater treatment by participating in training programs afforded by the Company in order to accept and fulfill more advanced responsibilities in this area for the Company.
Responsible for the Wastewater Treatment Facility on the weekends. Required to carry a pager when on duty.

Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Work experience in wastewater treatment or a related area of employment desirable but not required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak and write in English.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to pass the Wastewater Treatment Operator Math Test.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with operational problems involving one or more variables.
A license as a wastewater treatment operator desirable but not required. Must be able to obtain and hold an Industrial Wastewater license within the first year of employment.
Must have a current drivers license.
Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear and smell.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or corrosive chemicals and outside weather conditions.
The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes; airborne particles and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
