Description
Responsible for the application and validation of our chemical processes, which are performed on precision machined parts in a manner consistent and in compliance to Government, Customer, and In-house requirements and/or Specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with and around various chemical treatment processes, including but not limited to the following: i.e. chromate conversion coating, vacuum impregnation, anodize, and passivation
Responsible for accuracy of own work
Use inspection gauges and equipment to check work
Must be able to wear personal safety gear as required to meet OSHA regulations, ie., goggles, gloves, back belt, apron, and respirator when required
Basic blueprint reading and mil spec knowledge
Fill out required regulated paperwork and required documentation
Competencies
Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

Capable of maintaining consistent quality standards
Produce product within acceptable time allocated per operation
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area
Good interpersonal skills
Good organizational skills
Attentive to detail

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Min. 2 yrs. experience with chromate and chemicals, anodize, passivate, impregnation
Basic knowledge of hazardous materials handling
Proper chemical safety and handling
Tolerance to a periodically, slightly corrosive environment
Physical tolerance to metal oxides and hydroxides
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
