Warehouse Receiving Associate

Location: Sparks, 89431 Pay: $18/hr Shift: Mon- Thurs. 6AM- 4:30PM Fri. OT as needed Position overview- Responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate receipt of raw metal materials (such as steel, aluminum, copper) from Trucks. This is a labor-intensive role focused on unloading materials, inspecting for damages, verifying inventory, and organizing stock within the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
Container Unloading: Manually or mechanically unload heavy steel products, pipes, sheets, or palletized items from containers/trucks.
Verification & Inspection: Check incoming materials against packing lists, and purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
Damage Reporting: Identify and document damage, shortages, or nonconforming metal products, and report them to supervisors.
Material Handling: Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or electric pallet jacks to move metal safely.
Warehouse Organization: Efficiently stack and store metal products in designated racks or floor storage areas.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA and company-specific safety procedures, including wearing required PPE (steel-toed boots, gloves).
General Maintenance: Keep the unloading area and shipping docks clean, organized, and free of packing materials (e.g., dunnage, strapping)

Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks Ability to Stand 10 Hours/Day
Lift up to 50 Lbs. repeatedly.
Bending, Reaching, Turning, Twisting
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand/walk for long hours and frequently lift, push, or pull objects.
Teamwork: Strong collaboration with team members and truck drivers in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
High-volume, fast-paced environment.
Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions, as well as noise and dust.
Strict safety-conscious atmosphere due to heavy, hazardous materials
Education & Training- High School diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge & Experience-
Knowledge of safety regulations
Familiarity with warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
Basic math and computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $18.00 Per Hour
