Position Summary: The Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to appointments, errands, and community outings. During non-driving periods, this role supports the Activities Department by assisting with programs and engaging residents. We are looking for individuals with caregiving, medical, and activities experience who enjoy working directly with residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Duties:
Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and scheduled activities
Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including those with mobility limitations
Ensure all safety procedures are followed, including use of seat belts and mobility devices
Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of transportation vehicles
Monitor schedules and communicate any delays or changes to staff
Complete transportation logs and required documentation
Activities Support Duties:
Assist with planning, setting up, and leading group and individual activities
Encourage resident participation and provide hands-on support as needed
Help create a positive, engaging environment for residents
Set up and clean up activity areas
Fill in for Activities staff during downtime or as needed
Qualifications:
Valid CO driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to operate facility vehicles
Caregiver experience, medical experience, and/or activities experience preferred
Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or in a healthcare setting preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, patient, and reliable
Ability to assist residents with mobility and lift as needed
Working Conditions:
Combination of driving and activity-based work
May require standing, walking, bending, and assisting residents
Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or outings
