**Job Title: CMM Programmer**
**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced **CMM Programmer** to support precision manufacturing operations at our Athens, AL facility. This role is responsible for developing, programming, and executing CMM inspection routines to ensure components meet all dimensional and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to support new product launches, ongoing production, and continuous improvement initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Develop, program, and optimize CMM inspection programs using **ZEISS** machines.
+ Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications to define accurate inspection plans.
+ Perform dimensional inspection of incoming, in-process, and finished parts using CMMs, vision systems, optical comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.
+ Validate and troubleshoot CMM programs to ensure repeatability, accuracy, and efficiency.
+ Support in-process inspections including machining, welding, assembly, functional testing, and laser marking.
+ Analyze inspection data and communicate results to Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.
+ Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records in ERP systems and databases.
+ Identify nonconforming product, place items in hold status, and complete Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).
+ Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventative actions related to dimensional issues.
+ Verify calibration status and assist in maintaining inspection and metrology equipment.
+ Assist with customer returns and RMA investigations related to dimensional nonconformance.
+ Ensure compliance with ISO, FDA (if applicable), and internal quality system requirements.
+ Meet established quality, efficiency, and productivity standards.
**Required Qualifications & Skills**
+ Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.
+ Hands-on experience programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
+ Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauges.
+ Experience documenting inspection data and maintaining accurate quality records.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic quality documentation.
+ Working knowledge of ISO quality standards and regulated documentation practices.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with PC-DMIS or similar CMM programming software.
+ Previous experience in manufacturing or precision machining environments.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

**Work Environment & Schedule**
+ Initial training will take place on **day shift** for approximately **2-3 months** .
+ **Day Shift:** 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday (optional Fridays).
+ **Second Shift:** 3:00 p.m. - 1:30 a.m., includes shift differential.
+ **Weekend Shifts Available:**
+ Days: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
+ Nights: 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
+ Weekend shifts offer **40 hours of pay** .
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, AL.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
