Supplier Quality Lead / Sourcing Engineer

About the Role
This role leads strategic sourcing and supplier quality initiatives for motorcycle components, focusing on cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and long-term commodity strategy. It requires strong technical understanding, supplier management expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to support production and innovation.
Core Responsibilities
Lead and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals
Manage supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery, and reliability)
Drive RFQ process, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution
Implement cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Resolve supplier quality issues in collaboration with quality and engineering teams
Manage part shortages to ensure uninterrupted production
Coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams
Handle casting, forging, and purchased components sourcing
Support tooling purchase orders and supplier recovery actions
Monitor pricing, resolve discrepancies, and manage cost updates
Maintain sourcing timelines aligned with program milestones
Main Skills (Must-Have)
Strong experience in
PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
and
APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
Supplier management and strategic sourcing expertise
Negotiation and cost optimization skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Experience working with spreadsheets and sourcing tools
Preferred Skills
Experience with castings, forgings, and mechanical components
Knowledge of supply chain tools (e.g., Windchill or similar PLM systems)
Experience handling RFQ processes end-to-end
Familiarity with tariff adjustments and cost modeling
Exposure to manufacturing or automotive/motorcycle industry
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or related field preferred)
5+ years of sourcing or supplier quality experience
Proven track record in supplier negotiations and cross-functional leadership
