Job Description
Campus Safety Officers are responsible for maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Duties include patrolling campus grounds, responding to emergencies, enforcing college policies, and supporting safety education and crime prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
Patrol & Surveillance:
Patrol campus (foot/vehicle), monitor CCTV and access control systems
Emergency Response:
Respond to calls (medical, fire, behavioral), administer first aid/CPR/AED, assist emergency personnel
Policy Enforcement:
Enforce college rules, parking regulations, and conduct policies; intervene in disturbances
Incident Reporting:
Prepare accurate reports on incidents, accidents, and safety concerns
Safety Escort Services:
Provide after-hours personal safety escorts for students/staff
Building Security:
Lock/unlock buildings, perform safety checks, ensure alarms are set
Customer Service:
Serve as a visible and helpful presence, assist with directions, events, and general inquiries
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (Associate's preferred)
Valid State Security Guard License (e.g., NYS Guard Card)
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Ability to walk long distances, climb stairs, and work in all weather conditions
