Sr. Manager - Supply Chain Forecasting & Demand Planning

Foot Locker, Inc., New York, NY, United States

Overview
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Forecasting & Demand Planning is a highly analytical and strategically-oriented leadership role within Foot Locker's Supply Chain organization. This individual owns the creation, management, and continuous improvement of demand and labor forecasts that drive supply chain planning across Foot Locker's North America network. Reporting to the Senior Director, Vendor Operations and Order Management, this leader serves as the connective tissue between inventory management, supply chain operations, and merchandising — translating complex data into actionable end-to-end plans that optimize inventory flow, DC capacity, and labor efficiency.

This role is central to Foot Locker's ability to execute its omnichannel fulfillment strategy with precision and agility. The Senior Manager will lead the S&OP/Integrated Business Planning process, develop scenario-based supply chain strategies for peak and non-peak periods, and build the forecasting capabilities that enable the organization to make better, faster decisions at every level. Their work directly supports the broader Omnichannel Fulfillment organization — including the Last Mile & Fulfillment, Omni Order Management, and DOM pods — by ensuring that upstream demand signals are translated into executable supply chain plans.

Responsibilities
Demand & Supply Forecasting

Own the creation and management of end-to-end demand forecasts, leveraging statistical modeling, historical sales data, and business intelligence to generate accurate, actionable supply chain plans.

Develop short- and long-term supply and capacity plans that balance product availability goals with cost management objectives across Foot Locker's North America network.

Continuously monitor and improve forecast accuracy, establishing metrics, conducting variance analysis, and implementing corrective strategies to tighten the gap between plan and actuals.

Build and maintain scenario-based planning models that enable the business to respond rapidly to demand volatility, supply disruptions, and strategic shifts.

S&OP / Integrated Business Planning

Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) demand review process — facilitating regular cross-functional planning cycles that align supply chain, inventory, merchandising, and finance on a unified demand and supply plan.

Prepare and present demand forecasts, capacity outlooks, and supply chain risk assessments to senior and executive leadership with clarity and confidence.

Drive alignment between short-term operational plans and long-term strategic supply chain goals through the IBP process.

Partner with Merchandising and Finance to integrate open-to-buy plans, assortment changes, and promotional calendars into the demand forecast.

Labor & Capacity Planning

Develop and maintain labor and staffing forecasts for supply chain operations, ensuring DC and fulfillment network capacity aligns with projected receipt and outbound demand volumes.

Coordinate labor planning with supply chain operations leaders and HR business partners to support efficient workforce deployment during both peak and steady-state periods.

Model capacity constraints and identify investment requirements across the DC network to support Foot Locker's omnichannel growth objectives.

Cross-Functional Strategy & Communication

Serve as the primary cross-functional partner for demand planning, connecting teams across Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Omnichannel Fulfillment, Merchandising, and Finance.

Translate complex data sets and statistical models into clear, business-relevant insights for stakeholders at all levels — from DC operations teams to the VP of Supply Chain.

Drive organizational strategic decisions by providing supply chain scenario analyses, risk assessments, and trade-off recommendations for both short- and long-term planning horizons.

Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager, OPM and the Omni Order Management pod to ensure demand signals inform receipt planning and downstream fulfillment execution.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

Lead, coach, and develop a team of demand and supply planning managers and analysts, building analytical capability and a culture of rigor, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Set clear performance expectations and development pathways for direct reports; actively invest in the growth and retention of planning talent.

Champion the adoption of advanced planning tools, statistical forecasting methods, and data visualization best practices across the team and broader supply chain organization.

Process Innovation & Analytics

Continuously evaluate and improve forecasting methodologies, planning processes, and analytical toolsets to increase accuracy and operational efficiency.

Work with complex data sets using statistical modeling and advanced analytics to generate the best outcomes for inventory availability and cost management.

Partner with the Technology team to identify and implement enhancements to demand planning systems and data infrastructure.
