About the position

Your responsibilities and tasks
As an Automation Engineer, you will work on the automation of projects executed by the project execution department of GEA Heating and Refrigeration Solutions. You develop and design plant automation solutions for the global market according to western international standards.
Design according to applicable GEA standards and customer specifications, in accordance with international and/or local regulations and directives.
Study, interpret, monitor and discuss the project design and project planning.
Test the design by means of a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with both GEA commissioning engineer and if applicable, the end customer.
Continuously improve the quality of the automation design and structure by using/improving the related standardization and development.
Contributes in the field of development, standardization and innovation GEA wide.
Responsible for the functional software specification (FSS) and user’s manuals.
Check the completeness of the final project documentation in the Technical Reference Manual (TRM).
Take care and/or support the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) in accordance with the site supervisor and commissioning engineer.
Advise both internal and external customers regarding the knowledge and use of automation applications.
Working together in a project team consisting of the project manager, refrigeration design engineer, refrigeration CAD engineer, hardware engineer, site supervisor and commissioning engineer.
Work independently on projects including onsite troubleshooting.
Your profile and qualifications
You have at least a bachelor's degree in Automation or Mechatronics.
Knowledge of Electrical engineering.
Knowledge of general safety instructions.
Knowledge of automation frameworks (preferably Siemens or Rockwell).
Able to read P&ID diagrams and electrical schematics.
Experience in supporting tools (MS Office, in particular Excel, VBA and power BI).
Master the English language (speak and write).
Preferably basic refrigeration knowledge.
