3rd Shift Team Lead
What you will do
The 3rd Shift Team Lead is part of SK’s newly constructed battery manufacturing plant. This is a performance based, 12‑year, O&M contract providing hard services of MEP equipment within the facility, excluding the manufacturing and production equipment. The objective is to maintain a seamless environment by assuring that equipment is performing to specifications to facilitate uninterrupted manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong maintenance/hands‑on technical experience and leadership background.
The role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance activities of the HVAC and related systems in the facility. This includes managing a team of technicians, coordinating and prioritizing work orders, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining a high level of customer service. In addition, the role is responsible for oversight and performance of a variety of repairs and services in a specialized building system environment with a high emphasis on HVAC, Mechanical Systems, building maintenance. Working knowledge of Electrical / Electronic BAS, and other similar types of related equipment and low voltage systems is a plus.
How you will do it
Supervise and provide guidance to a team of facilities technicians, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing feedback and coaching.
Meet with your team at the beginning of the shift to pass out radios, do PJC’s.
Coordinate and prioritize work orders and maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and efficient use of resources.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtime.
Accomplish repairs for HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and building automation systems.
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards and promote a culture of safety among the team.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment repairs, and inventory management.
Collaborate with external contractors to coordinate and schedule maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve facility operations.
Service, Repair, Maintain, Monitor and Adjust HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters.
Provide direction and training to less experienced O&M Specialists.
Plan, select, and lay out required materials for service, repair, and preventive maintenance work.
Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions and operate a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.
Requisition new supplies and equipment.
Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Participate in an on‑call rotation schedule to attend to emergency situations at the facility.
Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
Perform other duties as required.
What we look for Preferred Requirements
Two‑year technical degree or two years’ experience as an Operations & Maintenance Specialist, or completion of an apprenticeship program.
Proven experience in facilities operations, maintenance, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Requires in‑depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs.
Knowledge of the following trades/skills: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team.
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Working on mission‑critical projects.
Knowledge of OSHA codes and regulations.
Working knowledge of Metasys (BMS) and low voltage control systems.
Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, including ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.
Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and special maintenance events as needed.
Required to use a variety of hand and power tools or man lift.
Requires Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification.
May be required to possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a thorough background check and subject interview.
Salary:
$76,100 - $100,000. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
