Role Details
Schedule: Sunday—Thursday
Job Type: Full-Time (40‑45 hrs/week), Salaried
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Provides Oversight to: Production Director, lay members of worship team
Role Summary
The Worship Director is responsible for shaping the worship culture of Valley View and leading the church to whole-heartedly worship Christ.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the congregation in 3‑5 worship songs every Sunday
Lead the worship team to musical excellence and cohesiveness in rehearsals
Provide ongoing equipping and discipleship to members of the worship team
Produce engaging weekly worship services in partnership with the Lead Pastor, Production Director, and Communications Director
Actively work to enhance the excellence of the worship music
Participate in weekly creative alignment meetings and staff meetings
Be proactive in leading initiatives that strengthen the worship culture of Valley View
Collaborate with the Production Director to ensure technicalities of the service
Plan and execute special events (Christmas Eve, Easter, worship nights, etc.)
Partner with student and kids ministries to enhance multi-generational worship experiences
Oversee the worship ministry budget in partnership with the Production Director
Maintain, upkeep, and upgrade instruments and stage equipment as needed
Help coordinate music, worship, or accompaniment for funerals, weddings, or other ministry events of the church as needed
Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor
Qualifications and Required Skills
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is growing and thriving with a heart for local church ministry.
A degree and experience that have equipped them for the duties of the role
Alignment with Valley View’s mission, values, and doctrinal statements
A strong vocalist and instrumentalist (guitar preferred)
An ambitious team player with a willingness to collaborate
Administrative, communication, and organizational skills
A humble and teachable spirit
