Description
Stinson LLP is seeking a highly motivated patent attorney to join its St. Louis office. The role involves advising clients in industries such as medical devices, consumer devices, transportation, construction, agribusiness, sports and recreation, cannabis, HVAC, infrastructure protection and repair, manufacturing equipment, and electrical and fiber optic connectors. Responsibilities include drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in mechanical engineering fields, drafting and reviewing intellectual property and technology‑related agreements and licenses, and providing patentability, freedom to operate, and due diligence assessments.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor, higher degree, or equivalent in Law
7+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the mechanical arts.
Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar engineering degree and/or work experience
Excellent academic credentials and research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, multi‑task efficiently, and be an independent thinker.
Licensed to practice law in Missouri.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $200,000 – $250,000. Compensation includes a base salary and discretionary merit bonus. Benefits package provided.
