Summit Interconnect, the largest privately held PCB manufacturer in North America, is searching for a Project Manager to lead Continuous Improvement initiatives across the company. The Project Manager - Continuous Improvement is responsible for executing strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall business performance. This role drives cross-functional projects focused on process optimization using Lean Six Sigma methodologies within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with a hands‑on approach to continuous improvement. This role can be based out of our corporate office in Irvine, CA or at one of our Orange County manufacturing locations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations through implementation and sustainment
Apply Lean Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis) to drive measurable performance improvements
Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement solutions
Manage project timelines, scope, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful execution
Analyze data and performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
Develop and maintain standard work, process documentation, and SOPs
Track and report project savings, ROI, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership
Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of experience in project management and/or continuous improvement roles
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment (e.g., discrete, PCB, aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing)
Strong working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred)
Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional projects with measurable business impact
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar)
PMP certification preferred but not required
Data‑Driven Decision Making
Change Management
Strategic Thinking with Execution Focus
Preferred Experience
Experience implementing Lean transformations or enterprise‑wide CI programs
Background in high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environments
Familiarity with ERP/MES systems
Experience in private equity‑backed or fast‑scaling organizations
