Job Description
South Iredell High School is seeking a visionary, high‑energy, and dedicated leader to take the helm of our Football Program. As the Head Football Coach, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and academic achievement while competing at a high level within the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.
We are looking for a candidate who understands that "Viking Pride" extends beyond the gridiron. The ideal leader will be committed to developing young men of character who embody our school mantra:
Service, Innovation, Honor, and Success . We seek a coach who leads by example in the classroom, on the field, and throughout the community.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership:
Oversee all aspects of the football program (Varsity and JV), including hiring and supervising assistant coaches.
Player Development:
Implement a comprehensive year‑round strength and conditioning program and focus on fundamental skill development.
Academic Oversight:
Monitor the academic progress of student‑athletes to ensure eligibility and promote post‑secondary opportunities.
Community Engagement:
Build strong relationships with parents, boosters, alumni, and the Iredell County community.
Compliance:
Maintain strict adherence to all NCHSAA, Iredell‑Statesville Schools, and South Iredell High School policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Valid North Carolina Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain one) is preferred.
Experience:
Proven success as a Head Coach or high‑level Coordinator at the high school or collegiate level.
Certification:
Must hold (or be willing to obtain) CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
Safety:
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, along with completion of all NFHS mandatory coaching courses.
