Sales Customer Support (Menands)

Summary:
The Customer Sales Support position will play a key role in streamlining the sales process, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving revenue by resolving customer inquiries, supporting the front counter, and supporting sales representatives. The position serves as a vital link between the sales team and customers by managing orders, maintaining records, and nurturing client relationships.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

· Learn and understand the company’s range of products, applications, and industries served.
· Shadow experienced sales representatives during customer interactions and site visits.
· Support the preparation of quotes, sales orders, and product specifications.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business
· Process transactions accurately and efficiently, while ensuring a positive shopping experience
· Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism, tact, and care
· All other duties as assigned

Work Environment:
This is a physically demanding job that may consist of heavy lifting, in a non-climate-controlled environment, sales visits, and front counter interface with customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
· 3 – 4 years of previous sales or customer service experience (experience in the fastener or industrial supply industry a plus)
· Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of customers
· Ability to lift up to 40lbs. and stand for extended periods of time
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
· Team-oriented, with good communication skills
· Proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Basic understanding of sales principles and practices
· Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment
· Self-starter, with a great attitude and willingness to learn

Language Skills:
The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.

Reasoning Ability:
Strong reasoning, customer service, active listening, and good interpersonal skills are required.
