part-time School-Based Physical Therapist

DuPage County, IL
for
the extended school year.
This is an
on-site
contract role. The assignment is expected to run during the summer session, supporting students in a school setting through physical therapy services focused on access, mobility, and participation.
Position Details:
Schedule: Part-time, 14 hours per week
Location: On-Site, DuPage County, IL
School Year: 2026 ESY
Start Date: 6/1/26
End Date: 6/24/26
Caseload: 12 students
Responsibilities:
Evaluate students’ movement, strength, balance, posture, and mobility needs within the school environment.
Build individualized therapy plans that align with student goals and support access to school-based activities.
Deliver therapy services designed to improve gross motor development, mobility, flexibility, and functional participation.
Recommend environmental adjustments and supportive equipment that help students move safely and effectively throughout the school day.
Partner with educators, families, and school teams while tracking student progress and updating services as needed.
Qualifications:
Must be a licensed physical therapist.
Experience supporting students with physical disabilities, mobility needs, or motor-based challenges in a school setting is required.
Ability to assess functional movement needs and translate findings into school-based therapy goals is required.
Ability to collaborate with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student participation is required.
Strong documentation and progress-monitoring skills are required to maintain accurate therapy records and adjust services appropriately.
