Summary
The Allied Lines Underwriter will be responsible for independently managing new and renewal business across multiple commercial lines including Workers Compensation, Cyber/Regulatory, Financial Lines, CGL, and Umbrella. This role requires deep technical underwriting expertise, strong pricing and risk analysis capabilities, and a disciplined approach to regulatory compliance across jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring strong broker relationships, carrier-side underwriting experience, and the ability to make confident, well-supported underwriting decisions within established appetite and compliance boundaries.

Responsibilities
Manage new and renewal accounts for assigned agents and producers across multiple Allied Lines products
Evaluate and price risk using strong underwriting judgment, pricing strategy, and compliance with state filings and corporate guidelines
Underwrite business across Workers Compensation, Cyber/Regulatory, Financial Lines (EPLI, D&O, Fiduciary), CGL, and Umbrella lines
Build and maintain strong agency and broker relationships in partnership with the Business Development team
Monitor portfolio performance, including loss ratios, trends, and underwriting results across regions and industry segments
Ensure strict compliance with rating bureau rules, filings, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
Identify opportunities to improve underwriting guidelines, appetite, and pricing strategies in collaboration with underwriting leadership
Support strategic business planning and contribute to organizational initiatives and cross-functional projects
Partner effectively with operations, claims, compliance, and internal leadership to ensure strong underwriting execution and service delivery
Maintain strong documentation standards, classification accuracy, and policy administration discipline

Requirements
Minimum 7 years of underwriting experience with an insurance carrier required
Strong experience underwriting one or more of the following lines: Workers Compensation, Cyber/Regulatory, Financial Lines, CGL, and Umbrella
Established retail broker and agency relationships within these lines of business
Bachelor’s degree required
Strong working knowledge of underwriting platforms, rating tools, policy administration systems, Salesforce, and Excel
Proven ability to analyze risk, negotiate effectively, and make sound underwriting decisions independently
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, state filings, and underwriting within strict compliance boundaries
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across underwriting, business development, claims, compliance, and operations
Strong attention to detail with precision in rating, documentation, and classification
Confident decision-maker with strong escalation instincts, ownership mentality, and ability to support peer development

Preferred
Exposure to compliance functions, internal audit processes, or statutory reporting requirements
Experience interpreting regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
Strong background collaborating cross-functionally with business development and claims teams
