Responsibilities
Coastal Harbor Health System is comprised of a 145-bed hospital for children and adolescents, providing both short- and long-term inpatient care, and a 50-bed inpatient hospital serving men and women, ages 18 and up. We offer compassionate patient care to those who need it the most, serving not only local patients, but also those located across the country.

The Art Therapist will work with patients with a range of physical abilities, mental illness diagnosis, and substance abuse issues. The Art Therapist will assist patients in expressing his or her emotions through artwork (painting, sketch, illustration and/or drawing). The Art Therapist will help patients analyze their artwork and develop solutions to any issues or problems they may be experiencing to aid in their personal recovery. In addition, the Art Therapist will help patients learn coping skills so that they can effectively deal with stressful, challenging and/or traumatic experiences. Individualized documentation will be required for each patient seen immediately following the completion of each 1‑hour session.

Requirements
Education / Licensure: The individual will be required to hold a current Art Therapist credential.
Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Additional Requirements: CPR and CPI training as outlined in New Hire Policy must be completed before providing direct care services.
