Shipping and Receiving Technician
Location: Salt Lake City, UT. 8‑hour day shift (6 am‑2 pm). Includes travel for initial training in Franklin, WI, and Spartanburg, SC. Hourly pay $18‑$22, based on experience.
As a Shipping and Receiving Technician, you will communicate with mills to efficiently manage incoming shipments. You will load, unload and verify stock, collaborate with administrators on inventory and returns, and support logistics and customer account management.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate with mills to verify transportation and timing.
Receive Advance Shipment Notices and verify size, information, and references for each roll.
Send Bills of Lading/Manifests to Controller and Supervisor.
Receive outsourced material and verify counts.
Receive customer returns and compare Bills of Lading to actual returns.
Enter case and pallet quantities into inventory, create inventory reference tags, and place on appropriate pallets.
Quarantine product in the inventory system and notify CAM group.
Partner with Logistics and CAM group on inventory adjustments and destruction of product.
Assist CAM group with inventory discrepancies.
Respond to inquiries from CAM, Logistics, Controller, and others.
Assist with loading and unloading trailers.
Palletize finished goods.
Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the warehouse.
Mentor and train team members.
Promote teamwork and cross‑train on equipment as assigned.
Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to operate powered industrial equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Basic math skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Computer proficiency.
Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple responsibilities.
