Reports to: Executive Director of Teaching & Learning
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Dept./School: Teaching & Learning / Assigned Campus
Pay Family: Teacher Hiring Schedule
Minimum Salary: Teacher Hiring Schedule

Duty Days: 187 days per school year
Insight: Support
Primary Purpose: Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to support instructional practices that increase student growth and achievement.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Master’s degree (preferred)
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
ESL certification (preferred)
Experience
Five (5) years of successful teaching experience in an elementary or secondary school setting; experience across multiple grade levels (preferred)
Knowledge and Skills
Comprehensive knowledge of instructional pedagogy
Comprehensive knowledge of current Standards for the State of Texas (TEKS)
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Experience in conducting professional development and supporting adult learners
Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes in core content areas
Key Responsibilities
Work with teachers (in teams or individually) to refine their knowledge and skills in instructional best practices; Methods of instruction may include in-class coaching, peer observation, co-teaching, and modeling effective instruction using a gradual release model.
Mentor teachers to improve instruction and build their capacity to teach others.
Establish a coaching partnership with teachers.
Identify a compelling measurable goal for coaching interactions.
Maintain manual and electronic records to monitor the impact of coaching on student growth.
Work in partnership with Teaching and Learning to improve student achievement.
Additional Responsibilities
Adhere to all district policies, procedures, and expectations as outlined in the employee handbook and administrative regulations.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Participate in professional development to remain current on best practices and evidence-based strategies, faculty/department meetings, and special events as assigned.
Perform additional duties assigned to support the mission and goals of the district and department.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None
Tools and Equipment Used:
Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)]
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise; occasional districtwide and statewide travel
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
