Position Summary The Document Control Specialist I is responsible for managing technical drawings and documentation throughout their lifecycle. This role supports operations, capital, and maintenance projects by ensuring accurate tracking, distribution, storage, and archiving of technical documents within an electronic document management system. The role requires strong attention to detail, collaboration, and adherence to established document control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate, receive, issue, track, distribute, and archive technical drawings and document packages using an electronic document management system
Support operations, capital, maintenance, and project work by maintaining accurate document records
Identify and resolve data quality, process, and documentation issues
Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and provide reports and status updates as needed
Assist internal teams and external consultants with document standards, procedures, and requirements
Support continuous improvement of document control standards and processes
Ensure integrity and accuracy of technical drawings and associated metadata
Coordinate construction and as-built drawings for assigned projects
Collaborate closely with document control analysts and drafters to maintain consistent document quality
Perform additional duties, including special projects and preparation of technical drawings for internal and field requests
Required Qualifications
Technology diploma or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and 0–3 years of related experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Strong organizational and time-management skills in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to troubleshoot technical and analytical issues with minimal supervision
Self-motivated, reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive
Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
Experience with document or drawing management systems
Experience in engineering, construction, or technical environments
